PROJECT BRIEF

The Alpha Restaurant needed to undertake a complete rebuild

due to the significant upgrades to the Australian Workers

Union building. The upgrades included major structural and

infrastructure upgrades for the purposes of a 2-story addition

to the existing building.

As a result, Mars was engaged to work with interior design

firm, DS17, on re-birthing the established Alpha restaurant.

The refurbishment retained some iconic features of the

original design but included a new open kitchen, new bar, new

amenities and new finishes throughout. The elegant design

complements the building’s heritage architecture with natural

light which completes the picture of sophistication, warmth

and a high attention to detail.

The furniture and finishes evoke an inviting space that patrons

feel welcome to enter. The use of marble stone, feature high

end joinery finishes, and a striking feature wall with Greek

script upholds a sense of Mediterranean luxury.
